Reconciliation Week celebrated
WARRNAMBOOL West Primary School students have acknowledged National Reconciliation Week in a respectful and colourful way.
Throughout the week the school’s Koorie leaders spoke to each individual class and watched a ‘Story Time’ link with them on the big screen.
Classes read books including ‘Sorry Day,’ Somebody’s Land’ and Finding our heart.’
During their visual arts lesson, each child used three different colours to paint traditional dot paintings and symbols for a whole school display.
A rainbow serpent was the main feature of the collaborative piece while a Sea of Hearts challenge was also completed, with each child writing on a heart what reconciliation means to them.
