The dedicated volunteers, who this year continued to offer their time to help transport patients to and from appointments, have provided a vital service to many local residents.

The group recently celebrated the year, and festive season, with a special lunch at the Warrnambool Bowls Club.

“These volunteers are the lifeblood behind the Red Cross Warrnambool Patient Transport Service and we are very grateful to them all,” service convenor Peter Mills said.

“State-wide Red Cross has 31 transport cars, 16 in Melbourne and 15 across regional areas, and our driver numbers are starting to increase which is just wonderful.”
