Residents urged to dig deep for the kids
RESIDENTS across the western district are once again being urged to dig deep and give what they can during the annual Good Friday Appeal.

Raising money for The Royal Children’s Hospital, the annual appeal is always a favourite fundraiser for members of the Warrnambool Fire Brigade who will once again coordinate the local collection.
Brigade captain Tom Woodhams said they were hoping to again equal or improve on the amazing $29,806 raised last year.
The Royal Children’s Hospital will be relying on the generosity of families, individuals and businesses across the state to help ensure the future of this essential facility.
Fire brigades across the district will again be united in their quest to raise funds.
The Warrnambool brigade will be joined by firefighters from Wangoom, Woodford, Winslow, Purnim and Grassmere CFA brigades along with the SES and FRV firefighters.
“We hope to cover as much of the town as we can; Warrnambool is certainly a big area but we always try our best to reach as many people as possible,” Tom said.
“Our fire station will also be open most of the day so we invite people to pop in, have a look around and make a donation if they can.
“We know so many Warrnambool children have received life saving care from The Royal Children’s Hospital.”
Fuelled on hot cross buns and chocolate, collectors will be walking the streets of Warrnambool, including the Lake Pertobe precinct, from 8.30am through until about lunch time on Good Friday.
“People will hear us coming; there will be blasts from truck sirens as we enter their streets,” Tom said.
“The support from surrounding brigades and city organisations reflects the generosity of everyone wanting to give up their free time to walk the streets of Warrnambool.”
And for those who don’t have cash ready, a QR code will be available which will link donations directly to the Warrnambool site.
