The reigning premiers, who are now sitting four from four (having played their round four match against Koroit on Good Friday) travelled to Hawkesdale last Saturday to take on the Hamilton Kangaroos.

An even first quarter saw the visitors one point down after kicking four straight goals, but a second quarter comeback saw the Roosters go into the main break with a handy 31-point lead.

The Roosters stepped up their intensity and pressure on the ball in the second half, dominating the play and making good use of the ball, adding six goals on the scoreboard while limiting the Kangaroos’ scoring opportunities.

Final scores were South Warrnambool 15.11.101 to Hamilton 6.4.40.

Best for the Roosters were Myles McCluggage, Nick Thompson, Daniel Nicholson, Patrick Anderson, Harry Lee and Riley Thomas.

Shannon Beks, Sam Kelly, Myles McCluggage, Daniel Nicholson and Riley Thomas each contributed two goals.

Patrick Anderson, Jack Dye, Josh Folkes, Max Irving and Nick Thompson kicked a goal each.

In other round three Hampden League matches, Koroit defeated Camperdown, Terang Mortlake were big winners over Portland, North Warrnambool defeated Port Fairy and the Blues went down to Cobden.

Round four tomorrow (Saturday) will see Portland host the Kangaroos, Warrnambool will be at home to Camperdown, Port Fairy will host Cobden and North Warrnambool and Terang Mortlake will meet at Bushfield.
