School on track for term three opening
THE much-anticipated opening of the South West Tech School is on track for term three.

The school, located at South West TAFE’s Warrnambool campus, will provide a state-of-the-art learning environment for an anticipated 7,500 students from 26 schools across the district and beyond.
Member for Western Victoria, Jacinta Ermacora, toured the school late last month and was impressed by the facilities.
“Thanks to Labor, local students will be able to stay ahead of the game, with access to industry-standard facilities for STEM learning,” she said.
“Only Labor is delivering education opportunities for local students who open their eyes to career pathways they may never have considered.”
Ms Ermacora said that “no matter their postcode” every child had the right to a world-class education at a Victorian public school.
“Science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) knowledge is becoming increasingly valuable, so the state government is giving young people the opportunity to learn in a state-of-the-art tech school closer to home.”
The school will welcome students from Warrnambool, Corangamite, Glenelg, Moyne and Southern Grampians.
“STEM jobs in health, agriculture, clean energy, sustainability and artificial intelligence are in demand, and soon local students will meet that,” Ms Ermacora said.
