Scoreboard unveiled
NORTHERN Raiders Cricket Club has officially unveiled its new electronic scoreboard.

While the scoreboard has been in use throughout the current 2024/25 season, last weekend marked the official opening of the device at the Raiders’ home ground at Purnim Recreation Reserve.
“The electronic scoreboard, at the Rodger Henderson Oval, has been well utilised this season and has been three years in the making,” club secretary Peter McDonald said.
Federal Member for Wannon, Dan Tehan, was invited to take part in the official opening.
The day also marked the 400th club game for stalwart Jeshua Ross in the division three clash with Merrivale.
Other guests to enjoy last Saturday’s celebrations included Member for Western Victoria Bev McArthur, Moyne Shire Cr Jim Doukas and Cr Myra Murrihy.

“This project isn’t just for cricket, it will also benefit the broader community,” Mr McDonald said.
“Grassmere Primary School already conducts its annual sports carnival utilising both Henderson and McDonald ovals and during the next summer holidays we intend to stage a family movie night.
“The screen is trailer-mounted for the flexibility of being moved from within both ovals, with consideration for potential outside usage.”
