Season launch a hit for race fans
MOTORSPORT enthusiasts of all ages enjoyed the chance to take a look inside a range of race cars at last weekend’s Premier Speedway season launch on the Civic Green.
Ashley Cook is looking forward to getting in his car for opening night, with the support of his father David.
Large crowds gathered on the green throughout the day, with young and old keen to take a close look behind the wheel and talk to some of this season’s drivers.
A free sausage sizzle and drinks proved popular among the crowd, as did the chance to enter the draw to win a season’s pass.
With so many giveaways on the day, and several cars representing a variety of classes, the launch was once again hailed a huge success.
Premier Speedway will open its gates to the public for the first time for the 2025/26 season on Saturday, November 1.
Sprintcars and wingless sprints will be on the night’s program.
Gates will open at 4pm with cars on track from 5.15pm.
