Seniors fun begins
POI twirling proved loads of fun for almost a dozen local seniors who took advantage of a free session earlier this week.

Monday morning’s poi twirling fun was led by experienced instructor, Diane Hughson, as part of Warrnambool City Council’s Seniors Festival celebrations.
Held at the Archie Graham Centre, the hour-long activity enabled participants to learn new skills, enjoy some casual exercise (both seated and standing) and have a few laughs.
“Poi twirling is proven to boost brain health, balance, coordination and grip strength,” Ms Hughson said.
“And it’s also a lot of fun in the process. Pois are very bright and colourful and I make many of my own.
“I’ve been doing this for many years and really enjoy seeing the smiles on the faces of participants.”
There was no shortage of smiles at the Archie Graham Centre this week as seniors of all ages and abilities took advantage of the chance to ‘have a go.’
