Serving up school holiday fun

TABLE tennis is one sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities.

Just ask 92 year-old Bob Jones who still gets a thrill from spending some time at the tables.

Bob and members of the Warrnambool Table Tennis Association are encouraging everyone to enjoy a social hit at Gateway Plaza next Tuesday and Wednesday as part of the centre’s school holiday activities.

Anyone wishing to pick up a racquet and perhaps learn a new skill can meet with association members for a hit anytime between 9am and 4pm both days.

“Table tennis can be enjoyed by anyone, from young kids through to great grandparents,” Gateway Plaza’s Sarah Porter said.

“This is an ideal opportunity for some school holiday fun and, who knows, it may be the start of a long association with table tennis.”

The table tennis tables will be set up in what is currently a vacant shop next to Strandbags.
