The advocacy plan has been shaped by the Moyne Shire Council Plan 2025-2029 and the 2025-26 Action Plan, both developed with direct input from community members across the shire.

The priorities it reflects are grounded in what residents and local businesses have identified as the region’s most pressing needs.

In developing the plan, council has been mindful of the current financial pressures facing the state government.

The advocacy plan is focused and deliberate, prioritising the areas where state government action would have the most meaningful and lasting impact for people living and working in Moyne Shire.

Further details on the council’s specific priorities will be released in the coming weeks.

“We know the state government is operating in a difficult fiscal environment, and we have been deliberate about the asks we are making,” mayor Cr Jordan Lockett said.

“This plan is not about compiling everything on our radar. It is about making a focused, well evidenced case for what will make a real difference to our communities.

“The Moyne Action Plan 2025-2026 gave residents a genuine voice in shaping these priorities, and we are committed to carrying that work forward into the election conversation.”

Council is looking forward to engaging with candidates and parties from across the political spectrum in the lead-up to the election, and to securing a positive outcome for local communities.
