South Rovers on a roll
SOUTH Rovers registered a fourth senior football win of the season in round eight of the Warrnambool and District competition on Saturday.

Playing Kolora-Noorat at the Noorat Recreation Reserve, the Lions scored a 19.19.133 to 12.4.76 victory.
Zac Urquhart, Sandon Williams and Jack Hope were best for the visitors, with Hope bagging seven goals and Kurt Lenehan kicking three.
For Kolora-Noorat, Fred Beasley, Justin Wallace and Caleb Kavanagh were best, with Oscar Ritchie kicking three goals.
The closest game of the day saw the undefeated Russells Creek get over the line by just four points against Timboon Demons.
The Demons led for much of the day at the Timboon Recreation Reserve, with Russells Creek kicking three goals to none in the final quarter in their 7.13.55 to 9.5.59 win.
Jailon Jenkins, Kyle Moloney and Sam Kelly were the visitors best, with Andrew McMeel and Lochie Chadderton kicking two goals each.
Tarkyn Love kicked three goals for the Demons, with Jack Matthews, Lyndon Alsop and Jack McGlade best.
At Nirranda, the home team defeated Panmure by 90 points, 20.17.137 to 7.5.47.
Panmure’s Daniel Meade equalled the Warrnambool and District senior football games record in this match, his 338th game seeing him draw level with the mark set by Allansford’s Neil Smith.
Blues spearhead Nick Harding kicked a season best nine goals in the win, while Tom Droste kicked four.
Louis Robertson, Sam Willsher and Danny Craven were Nirranda’s best.
For Panmure, Patrick Ryan, Matt Pratt and Michael Boyd were best, Michael Boyd and Patrick Sinnott kicking two goals each.
At Allansford, the home team kept its unbeaten record intact with a 14.11.95 to 7.9.51 win over Old Collegians.
For Allansford, Robbie Hare and Louis Herbert kicked four goals each, with Rani Jamieson, Kade Gordon and Patrick Drake best.
Jake Dowell kicked four goals for Collegians, with Paul Campbell, Jake Bateman and Jake O’Flynn best.
Merrivale had the bye.
In the A grade netball, Kolora-Noorat scored a 36-34 win over South Rovers.
Best for the Power were Emily Forrest and Hannah O’Connor, with Forrest shooting 15 goals and Lillie Bourke 12.
For South Rovers, Grace Mugavin shot 20 goals and Chloe Manuell 13, with Molly Anderson, Georgia White and Ashlee Pavletich best.
Russells Creek was too strong for Timboon, registering a 52-37 win.
Best for Creek were Stacy Dunkley, Alice Cann and Molly Evans, with Molly Evans scoring 29 goals and Ruby Evans 23.
Amy Kavenagh, Laura Rosolin and Holly Delaney were the Demons best, with Rosolin shooting 20 goals.
The Nirranda v Panmure match saw the Blues win 54-24.
Matilda Fitzgerald, Maddie Craven and Steph Townsend were best for the winners, Townsend shooting 31 goals and Sophie Adams 17.
Chloe Mckenzie, Sophie Melican and Elizabeth Yeo were best for Panmure, with Marley Talbot scoring 18 goals.
Allansford had a strong 55 to 33 win over Old Collegians.
Lisa Pender, Emma Stacey and Jessica Rohan were best for Allansford, with Rohan scoring 40 goals and Lilly Sanderson 15.
Tamara Bull, Tessa Evans and Maggie Kline were best for the Warriors, with Olivia Lenehan scoring 19 goals.
At Dennington, Merrivale scored a thumping 103-14 win over the home team.
Tahni Porter, Paiyton Noonan and Layne Porter were the Tigers best, with Chloe Lovell shooting 62 goals and Noonan 41.
Bridie Smith, Charlotte Dumesny and Amber Dowd were best for Dennington.
This week’s matches are highlighted by the clash between unbeaten senior football teams Russells Creek and Allansford at the Mack Oval.
Old Collegians host Nirranda at Davidson Oval, South Rovers will meet Timboon at the Walter Oval, Merrivale play Kolora-Noorat at Merrivale, with Panmure having the bye in the senior football and hosting Dennington in the A grade netball at the Panmure Recreation Reserve.
