South women dominate
SOUTH Warrnambool’s unbeaten run in the Western Victoria Female Football League continued after defeating Cavendish by 52 points at the Cavendish Recreation Reserve on Sunday.
Amelia Monk kicked three goals and Sophia Greene two in South Warrnambool’s 7.10.52 to 0.0.0 win in the round 11 clash.
Laura Curran, Alyssa Johnstone and Caitlyn Smith were best for the visitors in the win, with Stella Davis, Lucinda Star and Stephanie Praolini best for Cavendish.
At Melville Oval, Hamilton had a 5.10.40 to 1.2.8 win over Branxholme/Wallacedale.
Hamilton’s best were Hinemoa Biddle-Maitland, Grace Cleaver and Cleo De Jong, with De Jong, Ella Boston, Grace Cleaver, Amelia Bailey and Paige Richards kicking a goal each.
Britney Schuller, Imij Hawkins and Zoe Addinsall were best for Branxholme/Wallacedale, with Jacqui Robinson kicking the only goal.
Terang Mortlake, Tyrendarra and Warrnambool all had byes in round 11.
This Sunday’s final round sees Warrnambool host Hamilton at the Reid Oval, Branxholme/Wallacedale and Cavendish meet at Branxholme Recreation Reserve, with Terang Mortlake playing Tyrendarra at Mortlake’s DC Farran Oval.
South Warrnambool has the bye.
