South women hold top spot
THE clash between top two Western Victoria Female Football League teams South Warrnambool and Tyrendarra ended up being a one-sided affair with South Warrnambool winning by 94 points.
The unbeaten South Warrnambool now push two games clear on top after the 14.12.96 to 0.2.2 win at Friendlies Society Park.
Stella Bridgewater, Molly O’Brien and Amelia Monk were best for the home team, with Monk kicking four goals and O’Brien three.
Sarah Wall, Jasmine McDonald and Biankah Paije Rose-Maher were best for Tyrendarra.
At the Cavendish Recreation Reserve, the home team scored a 9.4.58 to 3.4.22 win over Terang Mortlake.
Lucinda Star, Chloe Perryman and Amelia Thomas were the home team’s best, with Shae De Francesco, Isabelle Wood and Rachel O’Keeffe best for the Bloods.
At the Branxholme Recreation Reserve, Warrnambool scored a 5.5.35 to 2.6.18 win over Branxholme/Wallacedale.
Isabelle Moorhead, Emily Gilding and Jayde Bertrand were Warrnambool’s best, with Star Jackson kicking two goals.
Hannah Hamilton, Britney Schuller and Shakira Agnew were best for Branxholme/Wallacedale, with Sarah Henderson and Jacqui Robinson kicking a goal each.
Hamilton had the bye.
In this weekend’s round nine games, Warrnambool host Cavendish tonight under the Reid Oval lights, while on Sunday Tyrendarra play Hamilton at Tyrendarra, with South Warrnambool and Terang Mortlake playing at the Friendlies Society Park.
