Strong round from Wolves
WARRNAMBOOL Wolves hosted three interclub derbies this round.
The under 12s opened the action under lights on Thursday, with Yellow celebrating a 6-nil win.
Goals went to Zach (3), Thomas (2) and Mason.
On Sunday the under 8s showed the large crowd how much they have improved this season, with muddy conditions no barrier to teamwork and fun.
While under 10 Black had a bye, under 10 Yellow hosted Hamilton (unscored).
A last-minute goal to Hamilton kept the game interesting until the final whistle.
The under 14 match was hard fought and saw Yellow take a 1-nil win, with Black defence working hard and a heroic effort in goals by Callum.
Thomas kicked Yellow’s only goal.
The under 13 girls and under 17s travelled to Brierly Reserve to take on the Warrnambool Rangers.
The girls faced a tough opposition, losing to Teal 11-1, with Isla able to find the net in the second half.
The under 17s top-of-the-table clash saw the Wolves win 2-1, with Will and Riley kicking a goal each.
Back home, the senior men faced Hamilton Raiders and managed to kick away in the second half (with four goals to Daniel) to take the win 6-2.
The senior women lost their game in a close encounter with Port Fairy Plovers, 1-2 (with a goal to Tamika).
