Successful weekend for Rangers
WARRNAMBOOL Rangers soccer teams enjoyed some great success last weekend.
In the men’s competition, the Rangers defeated Hamilton 6-2, with Flynn Riches, Matt Rosario and Gabe Roberts named best for the side.
For the senior women, the Rangers celebrated a 5-1 victory, with Amber Cubitt scoring four goals.
Team-mates Lucy Dobson and Suze Wood also played key roles in the win.
The side has finished the home and away season as league champions and will now go straight into the final.
In the under 17s division, Horsham forfeited the match last weekend, which sees the Rangers finish as league champions.
Under 14 Blue defeated Hamilton 5-0, with Dan Kelly, Rhyce Levett, Kaan Torun and Reyansh Pawar named the team’s best.
Under 14 Teal defeated Port Fairy 8-1, with Jobe Moloney scoring a hattrick and named player of the match.
Under 13 Teal finished with a 3-3 draw against Blue.
Best for Teal was Frankie Saepe and making 16 saves was goal keeper Arkayah Greer.
Best for Blue was Ayuni De Silva.
Under 12 Blue defeated Hamilton 6-nil, with Ryan Doan named player of the match.
In the non-scoring competition for the under 10s, Blue played Wolves Yellow.
Player of the match was Shivaansh Singh for the Rangers.
Niroo Thileepan was named player of the match for Rangers Teal against Grampians.
The under 8s enjoyed a game against Wolves Yellow.
Player of the match was Henry Courlot, with team-mate Charlie Conn also having a sensational game.
