‘Survive to Thrive’ gala dinner returns
FOLLOWING the success of last year’s inaugural event, the Gillin Boys Foundation will once again host a ‘Survive to Thrive’ gala evening.
The dinner, to be held at the Warrnambool Golf Club on Friday, October 23, will be hosted by Gillin Boys Foundation chairman and current Warrnambool Football Netball Club coach, Daniel O’Keeffe.
Guest speakers throughout the evening will include cancer survivor and former North Melbourne AFL star Ben Cunnington.
“It will be wonderful to have Ben as a guest speaker,” foundation co-founder Christopher Gillin said.
“Guests will also hear from a group of my closest friends who will discuss their perspectives of what it was like growing up with me as I not only survived but thrived.”
Dr Chantal Coles and Dr Peter Houweling from the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute will also provide an update on their Duchenne research.
“We will also have live music, a silent auction and a special presentation during the evening,” Christopher said.
“Last year’s event was a great success and I’m confident this year’s will be just as good.”
Tickets include a drink on arrival and three course meal, to be provided by ‘A Passionate Pear.’
