Table tennis finals await
FROM minor premiers to out of the finals race, Warrnambool Vikings was defeated by Attunga in the A grade preliminary final of Orford and District Table Tennis last week.
For the first time in three years, Vikings have missed the chance to play on the last night of the season.
The grand finals of both grades will be played at the Orford Hall next Wednesday, August 27 from 7.30pm.
There will be another close encounter in B grade when Myndarra and Tarrone meet – they had a 6-5 result in the earlier final.
Neither final will lead to an early night as the standard of table tennis from all teams will see long rallies and extended rubbers.
In finals, once a team wins six rubbers play stops.
