Sunday’s second last home and away round of the 2026 season brought with it a great display of football skills from all four sides on the day.

Despite a big effort from all players, South Warrnambool went down to the Grampians Giants by 11 points, 5.6.36 to 4.1.25.

Brodie Petty booted home two goals for South, while team-mates Peter Byrne and Kieran Harwich finished with a goal each.

While details of goal scorers and best players weren’t available from the match between the Saints and Whippets, it’s believed the Whippets won the game by a small margin.

With just one round remaining, the Grampians Giants currently sit on top of the leaderboard with five wins from five games.

South Warrnambool, with two wins to date, sit second followed by the Wimmera Whippets and the Saints.

The sixth and final home and away round of the 2026 season (a Blue Ribbon round) will be played at Alexandra Oval in Ararat on Sunday, July 19.

The Giants will face the Saints, while the Whippets will take on South Warrnambool.
