The race to finals is on
WITH seven rounds to play in the Hampden League senior football competition, the finals race is seemingly down to six contenders fighting for five places.

North Warrnambool leads the pack, unbeaten on top of the ladder with star forward Charlie McKinnon leading the league goal kicking with 52 majors.
Koroit and Terang Mortlake are next, both on eight wins and three losses, with Portland and Warrnambool a game behind.
South Warrnambool is a game out of the five but with a superior percentage to fifth-placed Warrnambool.
Hamilton sit further back with three wins, Cobden and Port Fairy have two, with Camperdown having just the one victory so far this season.
The Open netball competition also looks set to be an interesting race to September.
South Warrnambool are the pace setters, sitting undefeated on top.
Koroit sits behind in second on 10 wins, followed by Port Fairy on seven; with the next three, Warrnambool, Cobden and Terang Mortlake all on six wins.
North Warrnambool has four wins, Hamilton two wins and a draw, Camperdown a win and a draw, with Portland on the bottom with a solitary win.
Koroit’s Rebecca Hicks is dominating the competition’s scoring, with 676 goals, well ahead of Terang Mortlake teenager Lyla Grundy with 356 in second place.
Camperdown’s Nell Mitchell is third with 333 goals, with Cobden’s Emily Finch fourth on 317.
The competition resumes this Saturday, with Terang Mortlake hosting Cobden at Terang, Hamilton and Portland will meet at Melville Oval, Camperdown will travel to Bushfield to take on North Warrnambool, Warrnambool and Koroit play at the Reid Oval with Friendlies Society Park the venue for the South Warrnambool v Port Fairy clash.
