A large number of bikes made their way in convoy from Rafferty’s Tavern to Lake Pertobe on Saturday afternoon where they were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of supporters.

Bonnie and Trevor Warnecke, who have been organising the toyrun for almost three decades, said the event was a huge success, with a large amount of toys and other donations given to the Salvos for distribution in time for Christmas.

“It was amazing to see so many motorbikes take part in the toyrun despite the weather,’ they said.

“And it was lovely to see so many toys and gifts donated; it will certainly bring smiles to the faces of many children across the district who may have otherwise gone without this Christmas.”

A quantity of non-perishable foods were also donated on the weekend, and these will also be distributed to families in need by The Salvation Army.
