Triple threat on court
LOOK out 11 and under mixed netball sides across the Warrnambool District League – you’ll be seeing double (three times over) when you face Panmure this season.

This year the Bulldogs’ youngest team comprises not one, not two, but three sets of twins – and the club couldn’t be prouder.
“It’s really amazing to see three sets of twins in the same side,” committee member Bridget Condon said.
“This is a first for our club, and perhaps even the league, and what makes it even more special is the long association each of those families have with the Bulldogs; it’s really a full circle moment for us all.
“It’s so exciting to see generations of families growing up through the club and forming lifelong friendships; it truly says a lot about the culture at our club.”
For Daisy and Flora Meade, their mum Nat is the current team coach, and Georgie and Macy Condon’s mum Krystal is also joint coach of the young netballers.
Twins Ailey and Bella Beckwith are also familiar faces around the Bulldogs camp, with dad Joe Tunbull-Potts a current player in the reserves football side.
“Our records also show that between the Condon and Meade families they have won roughly 11 premierships for Panmure and have a combined tally far exceeding 850 games.”
The Warrnambool and District Football Netball League has this season introduced an official under 11 mixed netball competition for the very first time.
And the girls could not be more excited.
“They were all very ready to take to the court for some official game time and were so excited to win two games in the first three rounds.”
The team took to the court for its very first game on Saturday, April 11 and worked hard to defeat Kolora Noorat 16-2.
Round two on April 18 saw a 21-3 loss to the Timboon Demons and round three (played last Sunday) saw the young Bulldogs celebrate a 10-2 victory over South Rovers at Walter Oval.
“While it is an official competition, it’s also about having fun and learning the rules of the game,” Bridget said.
“The team has had a great start to the season and we’re excited about what’s to come for our club.
“This year we have entered a full contingent of teams in the District League netball competition, from under 11s through to all three senior grades.
“And we’re working on building our junior footy program; while we have seniors and reserves we have only been able to field under 11s and under 13.5s – we don’t have under 16s and under 18s.
“But that’s something we’ll continue to work on as a club and I’m confident it will build in the seasons to come. We have a great family atmosphere here at Panmure which is something we take great pride in. Our families and players often come back, even after a few years away, and that says a lot about our club culture.”
