Twice the fun
THERE is plenty of excitement at schools across the district as students return to the classrooms.

And for some schools, there is cause for double and even triple the fun – with sets of twins and triplets making their way through the school gates for the very start of their education years.
At St Patrick’s Primary School Koroit, the school was thrilled to welcome two classrooms of Foundation students for the first time.
“This is the first year we have had two straight classes of Foundation and we couldn’t be more excited,” school principal Tegan McDonald said.
“And it’s not every day we welcome twins into Foundation in our school community, yet alone two sets.
“It’s been wonderful to see their individual personalities shine while also supporting each other as little best friends. They (and all our Foundation students) have settled in beautifully and are already such a positive part of our school community.”
Lauren Zimmer, mother of twins Quinn and Tillie, said she and her husband could not have been happier with their girls’ start to the school year.
“Their dad was very strong on sending the girls to St Patrick’s as it was the school he went to,” Lauren said.
“We love the small, close knit community feel of St Patrick’s. The teachers care deeply, not only about the academics but about truly knowing the child and their family.
“They see the kids as individuals, celebrating their strengths and gently supporting their challenges. The girls have settled in so amazingly in such a short time as they feel safe and supported – we couldn’t imagine a better place for them to learn and grow.”
These sentiments were echoed by the parents of twins Conrad and Nora Gervis.
“We felt St Patrick’s Koroit was a great fit for our children’s learning due to positive recommendations and already being familiar with the school,” they said.
“The children were very excited to start school and have been sharing at home some of the things they’ve been doing their first week.”
At Warrnambool Primary School, twins Xavier and Geoffrey Walsh headed in to class for the very first time, while triplets Ava, Bella and Kenzie Parker also began their Foundation year.
