Volunteers to build support kits
ROTARIANS, health services staff and community members will join forces next weekend for what promises to be a very special pregnancy loss support kit building day.

Organised by Sarah Wallace and her team from Wish Collective, the kit building day will be held at the Kardinia Church building on Tylden Street, Dennington.
“Following earlier coverage of Wish Collective’s work supporting families after pregnancy loss, and with help from the Rotary Club of Warrnambool, the local community is once again coming together to help ensure no-one navigates this experience alone,” co-founder of Wish Collective, Sarah Wallace said.
Sarah and husband Steven founded Wish Collective in 2023 following their own lived experience of pregnancy loss.
Since then, the initiative has grown steadily, with pregnancy loss support kits now supplied in partnership with the Rotary Club of Warrnambool and distributed through hospitals, GP clinics and specialist services.
“Pregnancy loss affects around one in four families, yet for many people the support they receive is minimal or inconsistent,” Sarah said.
“The kits are designed to offer acknowledgement, practical care and clear pathways to support at a time when people often feel overwhelmed.”
Each kit contains practical items, written resources, and information on local and national support services.
The kits are provided free of charge to individuals and families.
Feedback from recipients continues to highlight the impact of the initiative.
“Families regularly share that receiving a kit made them feel genuinely seen and supported.
“One family described it as something that completely changed their experience of loss, simply through being acknowledged and given clear support options.”
Next Saturday’s kit building day reflects the growing demand for the program and the strong level of community involvement that has supported its expansion.
Volunteers from across the region will take part, helping ensure continued supply of kits to local services.
“Wish Collective’s work wouldn’t be possible without community fundraising, sponsorship, volunteer support and partnerships with local organisations, including Rotary,” Sarah said.

The kit building day at Dennington will take place next Saturday, February 21 from 10am.
