Last Sunday’s walk, which took participants on a leisurely stroll (or ride) from the Lady Bay Resort car park to the lifesaving club and return (via the beach track to the Pavilion) attracted participants of all ages.

The event, which was the sixth to be held in Warrnambool, attracted one of the largest crowds to date.

“This was our biggest turnout yet, and we were absolutely thrilled,” organiser and foundation co-founder Christopher Gillin said.

“We had somewhere between 150 and 160 people participate which was amazing.”

“All funds raised on the weekend, from both the registrations and the sale of foundation merchandise, will be donated to the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in our next significant donation.”

Christopher paid tribute to all those who helped on the day, along with those who participated.

“A massive thanks to everyone who came along to support our event, we continue to be blown away by the level of support we receive from the local community and beyond,” he said.

“Hopefully everyone returns next year, and more, so we can continue to grown the walk even bigger and better.”

Christopher also thanked the five members from the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute’s muscle research lab who also attended.

“We are extremely proud of the partnership we have formed with the institute and we love seeing them at our events,” he said.
