Wet weather brings low scores
ROUND 13 of the Warrnambool and District senior football competition saw a round of low scores on a wet, winter day.

At the Walter Oval, Old Collegians scored a 13 point win over South Rovers, 6.7.43 to 3.12.30.
Jake Dowell kicked four goals for the Warriors in the win and was named among the best with Jacob Lacy and Paul Campbell.
Dylan McCutcheon, Liam Bishop and Zac Urquhart were best for the Rovers in the loss.
At Timboon, top of the ladder Allansford scored a 20 point win over the home team, 8.11.59 to 5.9.39.
Robbie Hare kicked three goals for the Cats, with Aiden Gordon, Rani Jamieson and Louis Herbert best.
Bayley Thompson and Ben Newey kicked two goals each for Timboon, with Eben White, Benjamin Saunders and Newey the Demons best.
At the Nirranda Recreation Reserve, the home team had a 4.15.39 to 3.4.22 win over Kolora-Noorat.
Best for the Blues were Mathew Lloyd, Noah Mounsey and Brayden Harkness, with Dylan Parish and Jeremy Stacey kicking two goals each.
Bradley Lucas, Ted Kenna and Fred Beasley were best for the Power.
At Merrivale, Panmure scored an upset three point win over the home team, 4.13.37 to 4.10.34.
Tyler Humphrey, Nathan Pratt and Jacob Moloney were the Bulldogs best in the win, with Tarj Anderson kicking two goals.
Nathan Krepp kicked two goals for Merrivale, with Kane Wearmouth, Manny Sandow and Jalen Porter best for the Tigers.
Russells Creek had the bye.
Unlike the senior football, the A grade netball saw some one-sided results.
Old Collegians were too strong for South Rovers, scoring a 66-22 win.
Maggie Kline dominated the game, shooting 59 goals and was named as the Warriors best along with Hannah Garner and Tessa Evans.
Best for Rovers were Keira Blain, Jessica Jones and Georgia White, with Grace Mugavin shooting eight goals.
Allansford had a big 77-22 win in its match against Timboon.
Jessica Rohan, Bec Mitchell and Abby Sheehan were best for the Cats in the win, with Rohan shooting 47 goals and Lilly Sanderson 30.
Best for the Demons were Bethany Hallyburton, Kelly Thompson and Amy Kavenagh, with Laura Rosolin scoring 12 goals.
The closest match of the day saw Nirranda register a 42-37 win over Kolora-Noorat.
Steph Townsend shot 25 goals and Sophie Adams 17 for the Blues, with Bella Wallace, Cloe Marr and Thalia Coates best.
Best for the Power were Mahni Beasley, Jade Byron and Ailish Glennen, with Tara Elliott shooting a match high 36 goals.
At Dennington, Russells Creek recorded a 63-13 win over the home team.
Charlotte van der Starre, Molly Evans and Alice Cann were the best for the Kangaroos, with Evans shooting 36 goals and Reese McIntyre 18.
For Dennington, Tanzania Cater, Alice Peart and Phoebe Stuart were best, with Bridie Smith scoring six goals.
In the final game, Merrivale had a 51-16 win over Panmure.
Chloe Lovell, Cloe O’Flaherty and Tahni Porter were best in the win, Lovell shooting a match high 34 goals.
For the Bulldogs, Sophie Melican, Elizabeth Yeo and Sienna Wickenton were best, Yeo top scoring with nine goals.
This week’s round of WDFNL matches will see South Rovers play Allansford at Allansford, Nirranda will host Timboon at Nirranda, Old Collegians and Merrivale will clash at Davidson Oval, Panmure will welcome Russells Creek, while Kolora-Noorat will have the bye in the senior football and play Dennington at Dennington in the A grade netball.
