Witnesses sought to fatal collision

A WARRNAMBOOL cyclist has died following a collision with a vehicle in Cudgee last weekend.


According to police, it’s alleged the vehicle, a red 2023 Toyota Landcruiser ute, and the cyclist were travelling east along Hopkins Falls Road about 8.10am on Saturday when the collision occurred.

The cyclist died at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota, a 20 year-old Wangoom man, was arrested at the scene and has since been interviewed and released pending further enquiries.

Detectives are currently working to establish whether a large truck was travelling west along Hopkins Falls Road at the time of the collision and are eager to speak to the driver to assist with their investigation.

Police also urge anyone who may have been travelling in the area around the time of the collision to check their dashcams.

Investigations are ongoing into the circumstances of the collision.
