Wolves take the win

THE Warrnambool Wolves under 17 team faced a determined opponent in Hamilton Raiders at Harris Street Reserve on Sunday in the Football South West League.

Wolf of the Week awards were presented to (from left) Jarrah Crabbmor, Riley Ciccocioppo and Ben Alger. Also pictured is (right) assistant coach Austin Hlatini.

Due to a competition fixture change, this was the only scheduled regular season match played during what is usually a mid-season break for school holidays.

With both sides missing regular players, the Wolves were able to kick away in the second half to win 5-1, despite a heroic effort in goals by the Hamilton keeper.

Goal scorers were Sam C, Sam W, Austin, Jarrah and Isaac for Wolves and Joshua for Hamilton.

The ‘Wolf of the Week’ award acknowledges a junior player who demonstrates the club values of respect, fairness, fun and teamwork.

These were presented to Riley, Jarrah and Ben with thanks to Schnitz Warrnambool for their support for this initiative.

Matches resume this Sunday 12th July with the final round of the regular season scheduled for Sunday 16th August before the finals series concludes in September.
