Works continue under bridge
MINOR upgrade works are continuing underneath the Mount Emu Creek Bridge at Panmure.

Major works were carried out on the bridge in December last year.
According to Transport Victoria, that upgrade reinforced the structure, ensuring it could meet the demands of heavy traffic volumes and modern freight vehicles travelling along this major highway.
That work was delivered as part of an upgrade to the Princes Highway Corridor to improve road safety and better connect people with jobs and services, and goods to market.
Crews returned to the area late last month to complete further minor works that had been identified while strengthening works were underway last year.
According to Michael Bailey, executive director Barwon South West (Department of Transport and Planning), crews will be installing full under-bridge scaffolding to replace aging elements of the bridge which have corroded.
They will also treat existing steel elements with new protective coatings.
“We don’t expect any traffic disruptions during these works as crews will be operating beneath the Princes Highway,” Mr Bailey said.
“It’s anticipated these latest works will take up to 11 weeks to complete, weather pending, with work expected to be finished by August.”
Pedestrian access to the Panmure Swim-ming Hole from the Panmure campground will be limited during works to ensure the safety of crew and members of the public.
The Mount Emu Creek Bridge was built in 1959.
